'Faidhich' Large Dining Table

Made from solid Beech this bespoke table was created for a customer who wanted a statement piece at the heart of their home.  The table top is veneered and has a mitred solid wood edge. The dark staining creates a beautiful contrast with the natural Beech colour.

Measuring 3.8m long it was important that this table was able to come apart to fit into the customers home and I achieved this using some clever design.

‘Timcheallan’ Revolving Library Table

Made from solid Scottish Ash with brass detailing, this bookcase is a perfect combination of a side table and a bookcase.  Inspired by formal Library Tables from the 1900’s, this updated design is a pared down, relaxed version for contemporary living.  With 6 areas for storage, the table is perfect for books, magazines, a cup of tea and even TV remote controls, while the revolving aspect makes it simple to access everything from any angle.

‘Innis’ Kitchen Island

Made from solid oak, cherry, beech, walnut, cedar, maple, spalted sycamore and elm, this striped showstopper unit is perfect for storage and preparation in the kitchen. It has 2 drawers, running smoothly on german engineered undermount soft-close runners, and 2 shelves for storage, and a bar of hooks for hanging pans and kitchen equipment. The height is perfect for standing, and the overhanging counter top provides not only extra worktop space but can be used with stools for casual dining or chatting over the stove before dinner.

‘Arudeko’ – Japanese Style Room Divider

Made from Solid Aromatic Cedar Inlaid with Ebonised Poplar, Walnut, Abalone, Mother of Pearl, and Mottled Shoji Paper.

My Japanese style room divider is a beautiful and functional piece. The Shoji paper diffuses light in a soft and luminescent way, and can be lit naturally from a window or with directional lighting. I custom made the hinges to ensure that the screen can be postioned in multiple ways. It is easy to add more panels at a later stage to account for moving home or changing position. It is perfect for screening off home office areas at the end of a day or creating a cosy sectional area in a large open plan home.

‘Torimaku’ – Japanese Style Room Divider

Made from Walnut Veneer Inlaid with Ebonised Poplar, boxwood, Abalone, Mother of Pearl, and Mottled Shoji Paper.

My second Japanese style room divider is another beautiful and functional piece. The Shoji paper diffuses light in a soft and luminescent way, and can be lit naturally from a window or using directional lighting. the customised hinges ensure that the screen can be positioned in multiple ways. It can be taken apart for replacing paper in time if necessary so it can be used for generations to come. perfect for screening off home office areas at the end of a day or creating a cosy sectional area in a large open plan home.

“Mavis” Display cabinet

Made from Solid Scottish Character Oak and Wych Elm

The ‘Mavis’ Cabinet was my first piece at the Chippendale School of Furniture. I wanted to create a timeless and elegant display cabinet that would complement the items displayed. It stands as a beautiful piece of art in its own right which includes lots of different techniques and skills. I spent time choosing each piece of wood for its beautiful character, including knots and shakes.

Art Deco Style Side Table

Made from Solid Aromatic Cedar, with Walnut and Ebonised Poplar Inlays

The Art Deco Side table is a quirky design. I was having fun with shape and form, and it was the first piece I designed as I was making it, so I could really enjoy creative experimentation. One of my influences is the Art Deco period, and this is very much reflected here. It is very lightweight and versitle, and the perfect height for a cup of coffee next to the sofa!
